Dominic and his children live on a remote island off Antarctica which contained the world's seed bank. He is caretaker of the island and the research facility on it. When a woman washes ashore during a storm, Dom's life is upended, especially since the island has lost communications and the island is essentially sinking due to climate change.
I felt really sad reading about the animals, so I subtracted a star.
