Best Kept Secret by Amy Hatvany.
I think the secret here is how such a good writer wrote such a boring book.
The main character was whiny and unsympathetic. I couldn't figure out if the author was pro-alcoholic or anti. Plus Cadee's remarkable recovery seemed to make light of how difficult a struggle this disease must be.
